Newspaper Nails

This is my first attempt doing this awesome idea. I maybe late trying this, but still why not right?

I painted my uber-short nails Winter Frost from Revlon. It's a mini-bottle in medium-gray color. I wanted something lighter but do not have any that does not consists of glitters and sparkles, plus I was lazy to mix my own so I used this one.

I can say this is a half-fail. I tried different methods here: 1) dipped a piece of newspaper in alcohol then pat onto my nails, 2) dipped my nails in alcohol then pat on a piece of newspaper, 3) dipped a piece, dipped my nail then pat the paper on. I think the second method worked best. That explains why this art is so uneven, because I kept on testing.

I did not bother redoing them. I figure I will take them off in few days anyways. Maybe soon I will try again and perfect them, and maybe in a summery colored base.

XOXO,

OPI Nicki Minaj + Joico

The studio I have worked last Saturday (see my post HERE) is next to a Cosmoprof. During our spare time, hairstylist Leanne headed next door and did some mini-shopping. She got tools and stuff for her hair kit, and of course, I got stuff for myself. Haha.

Bubblegum Pink, Did It On 'Em, Fly

I have been wanting these 3 polishes from the OPI Nicki collection that was released early this year. I feel bad in purchasing them in full price online when I know I can have them at a discounted price using my pro discounts, but I am not in the mood to go to Naimies or any store of the same. Maybe in my fear of overspending? But since I was already there and these bottles are calling my name, I gave in.
bad lighting washed the colors out? ;( eeek.

I got them for only $4.00 plus the "i hate california" tax.

Joico Moisture Recovery
I also bought these Joico Mosture Renewal Shampooo and Conditioner as per her recommendation. Let me see how this will work out on me. :) A liter each of professional grade hair stuff for $7.50+tax each! Amazon sells them as a duo for $35.98 plus $7.49 shipping fee Geesh!

If we had more time, I could have killed my wallet!

*Oh, I also got some new WnW stuff from the drugstore :)
On A Trip, Candy-licious, Through The Grapevine

Now, I cannot decide which one to wear first.....

NOTW: Glitter seen under a Fault Line

What's up Mamas?! I feel like I haven't posted a NOTW in ages.. Gosh..

I used Wet n Wild Fast Dry Nail Color in 234C Hannah Pinktana and China Glaze Crackle in Fault Line. It is my first time using the WnW Hannah Pinktana and I can say it is very deceiving. The glitz and the color in the bottle will take you 5 coats to achieve, but thank goodnes it is fast-drying. I was to wear it alone but decided to add a crackle polish since it look blah.

Dunno why this one is rotated this way when uploaded?? ;(

So from BLAH to VOILA! ;)

NOTW: How I Met Your Cracked Magenta

I have these WetnWild Fast Dry nail polish in How I Met Your Magenta for a month now but have not had the chance to use it yet. I sometimes buy stuff, keep them then forget i have them. These two are among them. I shopped my own nail stash and found them! ;)

This is rocker chic and i love it. The China Glaze Crackle in Black Mesh achieved the look.

I find the WnW polish too filmsy, it took 3 normal coats to achieve the look, and dries to a semi-matte finish. It also have a wide plasticky brush which made it easier to apply but one must have a light hand or else you'll get streaks. But, it is really fast-drying like what it claims. For $1.99, I should not be complaining actually.

Do you have any of these WnW Fast Dry polish? In what colors?

NOTW: Mint Chocolate

Hand me anything mint chocolate flavored and i would never say no to it. Be it sweets, candies, especially ice cream! The funny thing is I get dizzy whenever I eat anything mint chocolate, but that never stopped me from eating it tho.

Since it has been a hectic week for me to afford any dizziness, I came
up with this solution.

Here is what i used:
ELF polish in Chocolate, CG Crackle in Crushed Candy, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Topcoat, ELF Cuticle Pen, JR Watkins Hand and Cuticle Salve

ELF nail polish in Chocolate and CG Crackle in Crushed Candy
What a good way to ease my cravings.

What polish are you wearing today?

More Crack..... - China Glaze Crackle Set

Hi beauties! ;) Hope you are all had a good tuesday.
I know almost everybody here have this already and I am late. ;(
Please do hear my story below. :)
i love safe packagings ;)

This box was waiting for me at work today. I am very excited to see the set of China Glaze Crackle Polish hubby ordered for me from Amazon last saturday morning. I did a melodrama on how this trend almost passed me because I am so concentrated on building my freelance kit that I stopped buying nail polish and that I am being left-out and so on. It works! Try it. Lol.

Here's what I got:

Top Row: Crushed Candy, Fault Line, Broken Hearted
Bottom Row: Lightning Bolt, Cracked Concrete, Black Mesh

I cannot wait to test them out. My friend Roxy handed these to me and suggested I take my current polish off immediately and put all of these on, like NOW.  I love that girlie dork. LOL
(Roxy, yes that's you.. YOU are mentioned here).

China Glaze have another collection of crackle
named Crackle Metals... oohh love that metallic finish.

Is husband getting a hint? I hope so.

NOTW: Shattered B&W

Heya Dolls, it's nail time! :) I have a routine of doing my nails on one of my days off. I only tend to do it some other day if I have work (which is unlikely on a Sunday) or a make-up gig or photoshoot (which is most likely). Anyhoo, here is what i will be rockin this week:

So simple but makes statement, eh?
White base color reminds me of "SnowFake" of the 90s,  a liquid type white-out.

Here's what is used:
KleanColor in White, OPI Shatter in Black Shatter, Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Topcoat
and ELF Nourishing Cuticle Pen.

I used to do a lot of nail art, from konads to freehand nail painting to even doing my own acrylics.
I wish to fall in love again with nail art soon. ;)

What's on your nails today?
