NOTW: Leopard and Pearls

It's Leopard and Pearls!

I was thinking of animal prints lately...
and leopard always comes to my mind first.

I have done zebras and others, but this one is my default.

How to:

I painted on a gold glittery polish, then added randoms wacky dots using a bronzy color. After that I picked up black polish using a toothpick and made "c" or cut-up parentheses shapes around the wacky dots. Top with clear polish and you're done.

My fingernails matches my toes too, but I feel weird posting it. LOL.
And here's what I used:

Hope you like it!
XOXO,
Jyz

Newspaper Nails

This is my first attempt doing this awesome idea. I maybe late trying this, but still why not right?

I painted my uber-short nails Winter Frost from Revlon. It's a mini-bottle in medium-gray color. I wanted something lighter but do not have any that does not consists of glitters and sparkles, plus I was lazy to mix my own so I used this one.

I can say this is a half-fail. I tried different methods here: 1) dipped a piece of newspaper in alcohol then pat onto my nails, 2) dipped my nails in alcohol then pat on a piece of newspaper, 3) dipped a piece, dipped my nail then pat the paper on. I think the second method worked best. That explains why this art is so uneven, because I kept on testing.

I did not bother redoing them. I figure I will take them off in few days anyways. Maybe soon I will try again and perfect them, and maybe in a summery colored base.

XOXO,

jyz

NOTWeekend: Sinful Colors Neon Melon

Hi Bellas! I will be attending a Pub Crawl Birthday party with a Neon theme tonight. I have a love-hate relationship with neons. Some days I find it so cool, some days it makes me look off. I painted on this neon polish I picked up at Walgreens. I think this should just be called Nails of the Weekend.

This one is called Neon Melon from Sinful Colors. I dunno why it's called melon, for me it's more of a lemon and lime. There are other colors available too. It's pretty cheap, only $1.99 a bottle. It took me 5 thin coats to achieve this, it's kinda burning my patience but it's okay since it fast-drying.
I shared this photo below on Instagram and got lotsa love. I usually DO NOT wake uo this early but today I was already at work at 7am. This neon did wake me up like sunshine straight to my face!

Tata ladies! Just finished my friends hair and makeup for her neon pub crawl tonight, so I better take a quick nap then off to do my makeup too! Will post pictures, of course!

NOTW: Effie Trinket Nails

My Effie Trinket Nail Look

After watching Hunger Games last Friday night, I have been wanting to do either an Effie Trinket makeup look or nail art!

Guess I do not have much time but this should satisfy my Effie-Trinket-related-hunger for now. LOL. This is nail art she wore at The Reaping.

Effie's nail art at The Reaping

I did not buy anything new to make this, I just pulled out what I already have. Here are the products that I used:

RK in Snow White, Rimmel in Dazzle, RK in Rauro
I painted 2 thin coats of Ruby Kisses in Tauro, then used a makeup sponge to make a gold ombre effect with Rimmel 606 Dazzle. I topped it all off  with Ruby Kisses Snow White.

It's all so glittery and shiny! It took me few times to get a good picture because all the glitter and shine keep on flashing back.

Gold Ombre look on top of Fuschia

I hope you like it! I am hoping to do an Effie makeup look soon. <3

NOTW: OPI Did It On 'Em

This is what I still have one my nails right now:

I am liking this one a lot. It is on its 7th day now and haven't chipped. If it will, I am planning to add some shatter/crackle on top just to prolong it wear, LOL. That is if I would not change my mind later today.

Happy Heart's Day + NOTW Vintage-y Roses

Happy Heart's Day to all!

This is one of my favorite occassions, not just because things get to be in red and pink, but because it's a good day to tell your loveone(s) that they are in you heart.

A quick NOTW here. I used OPI Pink Friday and Wnw Candy-licious & Through the Gravevine to make roses.

Here's a card I made for my hubby:

And one funny card too:

I cannot wait for his reaction. Haha. :)
So, whether you are having a date or not, it really doesn't matter.
What's important is you give love and you are being loved.

XOXO,
Jyz

NOTW: I see yellow leopard gecko.

Hi dolls!!

Before I get swamped on all things pink and red this month, I want to give this sunny yellow a chance to shine.

I have done this design a lot of times before but not in yellow. I drew the leopard pattern using a toothpick.

Oh, and below is the inspirational dude:

I am blogging using my iPhone today, I apologize. I will be busy for shoots this weekend so better take pics now or I might miss this chance. haha

NOTW: Dippin Dots in Winter

I am not a big fan of winter. Luckily, I am in sunny California and can still have ice cream!!! Haha. This post is inspired by the current season and Dippin Dots ice cream.

I used WnW Silvior as base. For the dots, I added few drops of white polish to WnW Bijou Blue to make it a bit lighter blue, and then added in more dots using just the color white.

Now I am craving ice cream!

NOTW: Disco Ball Nails

Heya!

I'm feeling kinda blue because of the weather, and I feel like I should go out clubbing this weekend. Emotions like these have results, and here it what it is:

I used my oldie Claire's nail polish in Quicksand as a base. It's my fave black polish with tiny glitters on it. Then I used Milani Jewel FX in 530 Gems.

I used 2 coats of Claire's, and 2 coats of Milani Jewel FX. With the latter you can go away with one coat, but I decide to go for two since i want a supah shiny glittery disco mirror ball look.Hahaha.

So, what a weird fun set of nails to wear at Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow. LOL.

NOTW: Glitter seen under a Fault Line

What's up Mamas?! I feel like I haven't posted a NOTW in ages.. Gosh..

I used Wet n Wild Fast Dry Nail Color in 234C Hannah Pinktana and China Glaze Crackle in Fault Line. It is my first time using the WnW Hannah Pinktana and I can say it is very deceiving. The glitz and the color in the bottle will take you 5 coats to achieve, but thank goodnes it is fast-drying. I was to wear it alone but decided to add a crackle polish since it look blah.

Dunno why this one is rotated this way when uploaded?? ;(

So from BLAH to VOILA! ;)

NOTW: Dracula Nails

Hello! Sorry ladies if I have not been posting here nor tweeting... I have been heart sick since last week.. Luckily not brokenhearted, just my physical heart acting up again. I did another Halloween Makeup Look and will be posting it this week as well. ;)

But for now,  I have these Dracula Nails to share with all of you!

I used Revlon Vernis in Winter Mist in a mini bottle which came from a Revlon Trio Nail Polish set.

I got the inspiration again from Angie a.k.a. Goldiestarling from YT.  I tried my best to steady my hand but it keeps on shaking I do not know why.. and oh I hated it! But that did not stop me, I just went on and on, and just had some fun.

What polish are you wearing today? ;)

NOTW: Spooky Lil Frankies

Heya! How are my peeps doing?
It's the time to post nail stuff! I haven't been for a long time, I have been wearing the same plain pinky-peachy-nude polish from Sally Hansen for the last two weeks I think, eeekk.

Last night we we're watching a horror flick and I find that it is a good time to multitask, and I came out with this.

I got the inspiration from YT guru Angie aka GoldieStarling, she posted hers last year. Oh I so like her and her work. To see her tutorial click here.

I just used what I have ;) I have this Ruby Kisses Neon Green but have not used it yet because it is so filmsy I do not really like it. It took me 3 thin coats to achieve this light green look.

Thanks for stopping by. <3 Hope you try this out too!
